LAREDO, Texas (TNND) — One person is confirmed dead following a plane crash on Loop 20 near the Texas-Mexico border on Tuesday night.
The Laredo Police Department responded to the incident around 10 p.m., where a Cessna Citation Latitude twin-engine jet crashed onto the highway and subsequently caught fire. The aircraft had departed from Los Cabos International Airport in Mexico at approximately 6:19 p.m., according to FlightAware data.
NetJets, the owner of the aircraft, stated it is cooperating with authorities during the ongoing investigation. Witnesses reported bystanders attempting to assist those trapped in the plane by breaking cockpit glass and forcing open a door.
