The incident occurred shortly before noon between Routes 36 and 31 in Union County. A Dispatch photographer captured a tanker off the highway in the median, indicating a significant disruption to traffic flow.

Union County 911 dispatch reported that there are currently no details on how long the closure will last. The site of the crash is approximately 0.7 miles east of U.S. Route 36, and drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
