HARPER CO. – One person is dead following a crash on Highway 183 just south of Buffalo on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 56-year-old Saul Velez Ayala was driving when his vehicle collided with a semi-truck. The impact resulted in the highway being closed for approximately three hours.
Troopers confirmed that Velez Ayala died at the scene; he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. The driver of the semi, 50-year-old Tracy Jennings-Turner, sustained injuries.
Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
