Vehicle Collision on Highway 101 Injures Three
SAN JOSE, CA—October 7, 2023—A multi-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 101 northbound near the 87 interchange at 2:41 p.m., resulting in three injuries.
The crash involved four vehicles, including a sedan, an SUV, and two pickup trucks. Emergency responders, including the California Highway Patrol and San Jose Fire Department, arrived on the scene shortly after the incident was reported.
According to authorities, three individuals sustained moderate injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. No fatalities have been reported.
Traffic in the area was significantly impacted, with multiple lanes closed for approximately 45 minutes while debris was cleared and an investigation was conducted. The northbound on-ramp from Coleman Avenue was also temporarily closed.
Witnesses reported seeing one vehicle rear-end another, leading to the chain-reaction collision. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
