Car fire causes delays on I-93 South near Hooksett tolls.

MANCHESTER, N.H. — A fiery crash on Interstate 93 South occurred Wednesday afternoon, causing significant delays before the Hooksett tolls.

Authorities said a vehicle caught fire after colliding with another vehicle around 2:41 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing black smoke rising from the burning vehicle as traffic came to a standstill. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Emergency services responded swiftly, extinguishing the fire. All southbound lanes were closed temporarily, with two lanes still closed as of 5:30 p.m. while cleanup efforts continued. Authorities expect the lanes to reopen shortly.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to State Police.
