Car crash in Wantage Township leaves New Yorker dead.

A 25-year-old New York man was killed Sunday in a crash on State Highway 284 in Sussex County, authorities said.

State troopers responded to the incident at 2:02 p.m. near milepost 7 in Wantage Township, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Investigators reported that a passenger vehicle traveling north left the roadway, struck multiple trees, and overturned. The driver, Andrew Slagle, of Westtown, New York, was at the scene.

Emergency responders from local agencies provided assistance, and the roadway was temporarily closed for investigation and clean-up. Authorities stated the investigation is ongoing.
