Grundy County, IL—October 7, 2023—Bystanders rescued two individuals trapped under a truck after a serious accident at an auction event.
At approximately 1:30 p.m., a pickup truck collided with a tent at the Grundy County Auction, injuring three people. Two victims, later identified as a 35-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, were pinned beneath the vehicle. Witnesses reported that bystanders lifted the truck to free them before emergency responders arrived.
Grundy County Sheriff's Office and local fire departments responded to the scene, providing medical aid. All three injured individuals were transported to local hospitals; their conditions are currently unknown.
Authorities have closed off the area while an investigation into the cause of the accident is underway. No fatalities have been reported.
The auction event has been temporarily suspended due to the incident, and organizers are cooperating with investigators.
