A single-vehicle crash occurred on the Neuse River Bridge in Craven County shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP), the truck overturned, resulting in serious injuries to a passenger, who was transported to an area hospital.
All southbound lanes from Bridgeton to James City were temporarily closed as emergency responders attended to the scene.
The NCSHP is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
