HINDS COUNTY, Miss. — Authorities are responding to a fatal crash on Interstate 20 westbound near the Flower exit, just past Edwards, on Friday afternoon.
According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation, the incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. near the Hinds-Warren County line. The interim Hinds County coroner confirmed that one individual died as a result of the crash.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol has not yet disclosed the specifics of the crash or the number of vehicles involved. Emergency response units are on the scene, and traffic backups are reported in the area.
