LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries in a multi-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon in Summerlin.
The incident occurred at 1:34 p.m. at North Rampart Boulevard and Canyon Run Drive, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police. A 1998 Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 68-year-old man, was traveling north in the left-turn lane on a green signal when it failed to yield to a 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which was approaching on a steady green light.
The motorcycle, operated by a 33-year-old man, collided with the Tacoma at the intersection. Emergency responders reported that the rider was thrown from the motorcycle and landed on the southwest corner of the intersection. The motorcycle then slid into a 2025 Lexus, while the Tacoma struck a 2018 Mercedes-Benz.
Both the motorcyclist and the driver of the Toyota were transported to University Medical Center for treatment. The motorcyclist, suffering from life-threatening injuries, was admitted, while the Toyota driver sustained minor injuries and was released.
Authorities noted that the Toyota driver exhibited potential signs of impairment, alongside indications of a possible medical emergency. Results of subsequent testing are pending.
