Driver dies in rollover crash on I-94 in Custer County

GREAT FALLS — A 41-year-old man died in a crash on Interstate 94 in Custer County on Friday, September 19, 2025.

The incident occurred near mile marker 137, south of Miles City, around 11 p.m. According to the Montana Highway Patrol (MHP), the man was driving eastbound in a Jeep Grand Cherokee when he crossed the centerline and struck a bridge barrier.

The driver then over-corrected, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and hit a delineator post. The Jeep rolled multiple times, ejecting the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, as reported by MHP.

The man's identity has not been disclosed. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Authorities indicated that drugs and speed may have contributed factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
