A 31-year-old Massachusetts State Police trooper died in a crash on Sunday evening, the department reported Monday.

Trooper Jacob Mick, a Northborough native, was involved in a collision with at least two cars on Providence Road and Milford Road, initially reported at 6:45 p.m. by the Grafton Police Department.

According to Col. Geoffrey Noble, “He was a proud Trooper and public servant who never hesitated to answer the call.” Noble further honored Mick's years of service to the Commonwealth.

Mick was a graduate of the 88th Recruit Training Troop in 2023, which included Trooper Kevin Trainor, who died in a wrong-way crash in Lynnfield last month.

The crash remains under investigation by the Worcester County District Attorney's Office, officials said.
