Moiliili Leaves 17-Year-Old Motorcyclist Critically Injured

MOILIILI, HI—A 17-year-old motorcyclist suffered critical injuries following a hit-and-run incident on South King Street late Saturday night, according to Honolulu Police.

The motorcyclist was traveling westbound at approximately 10:19 p.m. when a vehicle, driven by an unidentified female, struck him while turning left into a 7-Eleven store located at 2646 South King Street, authorities said.

Witnesses reported that the driver briefly exited her vehicle to check on the motorcyclist before fleeing the scene westbound without providing assistance or information. Honolulu Emergency Medical Services treated the victim on-site and transported him to a hospital in critical condition. Police added that the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The suspect's vehicle was later discovered parked and unattended, but the driver remains unidentified. Investigators stated that it is currently unclear whether speed, drugs, or alcohol were factors in the collision.
