High-Speed Crash in Northeast Las Vegas Sends Multiple to Hospital
LAS VEGAS, NV – A multi-vehicle crash at East Lake Mead Boulevard and North Walnut Road on Saturday, approximately 1:22 p.m., resulted in multiple injuries, including one driver in critical condition.
According to authorities, a westbound Infiniti sedan was reportedly speeding when it collided with a Nissan making a left turn on a flashing yellow light.
Emergency Medical Services transported all involved to University Medical Center's Trauma Center. Medical staff confirmed that the Nissan driver suffered life-threatening injuries, while a passenger in the Nissan sustained serious injuries.
The Infiniti driver also sustained serious injuries but showed no signs of impairment. A female passenger in the Infiniti suffered minor injuries, and a juvenile was noted to have serious injuries.
The Infiniti driver has been booked in absentia at the Clark County Detention Center on charges of reckless driving and child abuse.
The incident prompted lane closures as authorities conducted an investigation at the scene. Further updates will follow as more information becomes available.
