Teenager and Mother Charged Following Vehicle Crash Injuring Man in Local Area
A teenager and his mother are facing charges following a vehicle crash that injured a man on Thursday, October 5, at 4:15 p.m. on Maple Street.
According to the Police Department, the 16-year-old driver lost control of their sedan, colliding with a parked vehicle. One man, 45, who was near the parked car, suffered multiple injuries and was transported to City Hospital for treatment. His condition is currently stable.
Authorities confirmed that both the teenager and his mother, 38, were in the vehicle at the time of the incident. Witnesses reported seeing the car speeding prior to the crash.
Emergency responders from the Local Fire Department arrived on the scene to assist with medical aid, while the Police Department is conducting a thorough investigation.
Police confirmed that both lanes of Maple Street were closed for approximately 30 minutes as crews worked to clear the wreckage. The sedan was towed from the scene.
Charges against the driver and his mother are pending, pending the results of the ongoing investigation.
