Downeast Maine Crash Claims Life of 5-Year-Old Boy
A single-vehicle crash in Downeast Maine on Thursday night resulted in the death of a 5-year-old boy and injuries to his father and baby sister.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Route 9 and Route 193 in Township 22, Hancock County, shortly before 11:30 p.m., according to Maine State Police. The boy was found unrestrained in the front passenger seat and was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures by responding officers.
His father, 33-year-old Dion Campbell of Indiana, and 10-month-old sister were transported to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor; both are expected to survive. Campbell is reported to be the only driver and the father of the children involved.
