NORTHBOROUGH, MA — A wrong-way crash on Interstate 290 left at least one person hospitalized Wednesday night.
The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. when a driver was spotted heading westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-290. State Police responded after receiving multiple 911 calls.
Upon arrival, authorities found a collision had taken place near Mile Marker 29. The eastbound vehicle was struck by the wrong-way driver, resulting in serious injuries.
At least one individual has been transported to a local hospital for treatment. I-290 East is currently closed, with traffic being diverted at Exit 27 to Church Street.
