Boise, ID – June 21, 2026: A late-night crash on Interstate 184 resulted in one fatality following a rear-end collision, according to Idaho State Police.
The incident occurred at 10:59 p.m. near mile marker three on westbound I-184. A white 2018 Acura TLX, driven by a 29-year-old Boise man, rear-ended a beige 2015 Toyota Highlander, which was operated by a 31-year-old Chandler, Arizona man and contained four adult passengers from the same city.
Following the impact, the Toyota veered off the roadway, struck concrete landscaping structures, overturned, and subsequently came to rest in the traffic lanes. All occupants of the Toyota were transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital, where a 49-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead.
Authorities confirmed that all individuals in both vehicles were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. The westbound lanes of I-184 were closed for 3 hours and 45 minutes as emergency crews responded.
The Idaho State Police, assisted by the Boise Police Department, Boise Fire Department, and Ada County EMS, are continuing to investigate the incident.
