HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — A motorcycle crash on Saturday night resulted in the death of a 26-year-old man in eastern Henrico County, according to authorities.
The incident occurred at the intersection of North Airport Drive and Airport Place around 9:35 p.m., as reported by Henrico Police officials. The location is near Highland Springs High School.
Police arrived to find the motorcycle driver, identified as Hunter Southard of Henrico, with severe injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations indicated that Southard was traveling north on North Airport Drive when he collided with a southbound car making a left turn onto Airport Place.
The car's driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation, authorities said. Investigators noted that speed and alcohol do not appear to have been factors for the sedan's driver.
