RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. — A 36-year-old West Palm Beach man died Friday afternoon following a motorcycle accident on Australian Avenue.
The crash occurred at 2:37 p.m. in the 100 block of Australian Avenue. Authorities said Riviera Beach police responded to a 911 call regarding a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a car.
Upon arrival, officers found the motorcyclist unconscious on the sidewalk. A bystander, identified as a nurse, administered CPR alongside first responders, but Riviera Beach Fire Rescue paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
According to the Riviera Beach Police Department's Traffic Homicide Unit, a 2017 Ford Taurus was southbound when the driver turned left onto West 1st Street, colliding with the northbound motorcycle.
The driver of the Ford Taurus, 23-year-old Shakirra Zanaya Singleton of Port St. Lucie, has been identified. The motorcycle was a 2004 Suzuki GSXR600.
The identity of the deceased motorcyclist has not been released pending family notification. The crash is under investigation, with charges pending.
