PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A crash on November 21, 2024, that killed three Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputies was caused by a fatigued driver traveling at 85 mph, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Investigators identified the driver as 32-year-old Corrinne Adrianna Blue. Reports indicate she lost control of her vehicle on State Road 80 near Loxahatchee while attempting to avoid slower traffic. The crash occurred at approximately 9:14 a.m. and struck deputies Corporal Luis Paez, Deputy Ralph “Butch” Waller, and Deputy Ignacio “Dan” Diaz, who were assisting at the scene of a disabled .

Corporal Paez and Deputy Waller were that day at St. Mary's Medical Center. Deputy Diaz succumbed to his injuries on November 25.

Blue appeared in court on November 24, where her bond was set at $750,000. She was charged with three counts of vehicular homicide, with conditions for her release including house arrest and surrendering her passport.

According to the investigation, witnesses reported Blue was driving aggressively for miles prior to the crash, weaving in and out of traffic and exceeding the speed limit. Data retrieved from her vehicle indicated high speeds leading up to the impact, with a significant lack of braking.

Blue voluntarily provided a blood sample which confirmed no drugs or alcohol in her system, but investigators noted she had been awake for nearly 18 hours prior to the incident. This fatigue, compounded by her driving behavior, was cited as contributing factors to the crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to handle the investigation as the case progresses through the judicial system.
