JACKSON, Miss. — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Maddox Road on June 17, 2026, at approximately 6:50 p.m., according to the Jackson Police Department.
Authorities reported that 47-year-old Christopher Scott Dunn was walking alongside the roadway while pushing his moped when he was struck from behind by a vehicle. Dunn was pronounced dead at the scene, and next of kin have been notified.
Witnesses identified the vehicle involved as a gray Honda four-door sedan, possibly a 2012 Honda Accord, displaying Mississippi license plate HNJ 164 and missing its front bumper, which was recovered at the scene.
The driver is described as a Black female with a medium complexion, approximately 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build. She initially remained at the scene but left before emergency personnel arrived.
The Jackson Police Department is continuing its investigation and is asking anyone with information about the suspect or vehicle to come forward.
