MADISON (WKOW) — A passenger allegedly caused a crash on the West Beltline Highway near Whitney Way on Saturday, resulting in hospitalizations for both individuals involved.
According to the Madison Police Department, the incident occurred when the passenger, 25-year-old Tedrick Smith, became upset during a phone call and grabbed the steering wheel from the driver. The vehicle subsequently crashed.
Both occupants were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Authorities confirmed Smith has been arrested and is facing charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety.
