LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville man pleaded guilty on June 12, 2026, to vehicular homicide in connection with a 2023 crash that killed a 10-year-old Oldham County boy.
Tymetrius Walter, 32, admitted to charges including vehicular homicide, assault, and fleeing police during a traffic stop. According to authorities, Walter crashed into an SUV on I-71 while evading police. The incident occurred after he failed to stop, exiting the highway at Crestwood and Pewee Valley before colliding with the vehicle carrying Jake Luxemberger, a fifth grader.
The force of the crash resulted in Luxemberger's death, prompting a thorough investigation by law enforcement. Walter faces a potential sentence of up to 40 years in prison, with sentencing scheduled for July.
Emergency medical services responded to the scene, and Walter's vehicle was towed following the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
