BARRINGTON, N.H. — A serious multi-vehicle crash on Route 125 prompted the closure of Newtown Plains Road for several hours on Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 1:15 p.m., the collision reportedly involved three vehicles. Emergency responders focused on two heavily damaged cars, including an SUV and a sedan.
According to residents, the intersection is notorious for accidents. “I've seen fatalities over the years,” said local resident Kirk Taylor. “This corner has seen a lot of tragedy.”
Witnesses indicated that while accidents are common, the severity of this incident was unexpected. Resident Gretchen Janaki expressed concerns for local children who use the intersection as a bus stop. “It's scary for him to walk up the road,” she noted.
Authorities have since reopened the road to traffic. Police are expected to release more information later today as the investigation continues.
