Florida Woman Revived by Deputies After Being Found Unresponsive Behind Wheel Following Highway Crash

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A life-saving rescue took place Wednesday after a deputy found an unconscious driver on I-4.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred when a deputy stopped to check on a crash scene. A bystander directed him to a woman slumped behind the wheel of her vehicle.

Authorities confirmed that the woman was not breathing and had no pulse. A second deputy arrived shortly after to assist.

The deputies removed the woman from her vehicle and initiated CPR. One deputy deployed a defibrillator while both continued emergency medical care.

Emergency services arrived soon after to take over the efforts. The woman was then transported to a nearby hospital, where she is reported to be in stable condition.

The investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing.
