MEGGETT, SC – June 6, 11 a.m. – A single-vehicle collision involving a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) resulted in one fatality in Meggett.
Deputies with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) responded to Church Flats Road and Archfield Avenue for the accident. Investigators reported that the UTV was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control during a curve, resulting in the vehicle overturning. The driver was pronounced dead on the scene by Charleston County EMS, while a passenger sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The Charleston County Coroner's Office is involved and will release the driver's identity in due time.
