Man Fatally Struck on E-470 in Aurora, Highway Closed
A man was fatally hit by a pickup truck on southbound E-470 in north Aurora on Thursday morning.
Colorado State Patrol responded to the incident at approximately 6:19 a.m. near 48th Avenue. Authorities reported that the man “intentionally jumped” in front of a Chevrolet Silverado.
The investigation is in its early stages, and the circumstances leading to the incident are currently unclear, according to state patrol officials.
As of 7:51 a.m., southbound E-470 remained closed between mile markers 23 and 24. Traffic is being diverted at 47th Avenue.
The timeline for the highway's reopening is unknown.
