One Killed, One Injured in Aurora Crash Involving Stolen Vehicle

A late-night motorcycle crash in Aurora resulted in one fatality and one hospitalization, authorities said, on Saturday at 11:49 p.m.

The incident occurred at East Iliff Avenue and South Idalia Street, located near the Kingsborough and Horseshoe Park neighborhoods. A man and a woman were riding a stolen motorcycle westbound on East Iliff Avenue when they were struck by an eastbound CR-V turning left onto South Idalia Street, according to the Aurora Police Department.

Both riders were transported to the hospital, where the male victim later succumbed to his injuries. His identity is pending release by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office. The female rider remains as of Sunday morning, police confirmed.

The driver of the CR-V fled the scene, and investigators later located the abandoned vehicle a short distance from the crash site. As of Sunday, no suspects have been publicly identified or apprehended.

The investigation into the crash continues, with preliminary reports suggesting speed may have played a role.
