Des Moines Man Charged in Fatal Bremer County Crash
BREMER COUNTY, Iowa — A Des Moines man has been charged in connection with a fatal crash that occurred on August 23, 2022, south of Tripoli.
According to court documents, Lal Puia Sai Lo was driving east on 190th Street when he failed to stop at the intersection with Piedmont Avenue. His Toyota Tacoma collided with a Ford F-150 traveling south. The crash resulted in the death of 41-year-old Lungawia Chalthleng of Urbandale, one of three passengers in Puia Sai Lo's vehicle. The driver of the Ford F-150 sustained serious injuries.
Puia Sai Lo faces charges of homicide by vehicle through reckless driving and serious injury by vehicle. He is currently held in the Bremer County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not provided details on potential court dates.
