Three Hospitalized in Head-On Collision on State Highway 45 in Owyhee County
OWYHEE COUNTY — Three individuals were hospitalized following a head-on collision on State Highway 45 on Sunday morning.
The crash occurred at 11:30 a.m. on May 24 at mile marker 10.4. A southbound Toyota Tacoma collided with a northbound GMC Terrain, according to the Idaho State Police. The Tacoma was driven by a 22-year-old man from Melba, with a 45-year-old Melba man as a passenger. The Terrain was operated by a 35-year-old man from Meridian.
All three occupants sustained injuries and were transported to area hospitals; two were taken by ground ambulance, while one required air ambulance, authorities said. All individuals were reported to have been wearing seatbelts at the time of the incident.
Northbound and southbound lanes of SH-45 were closed for approximately two hours as emergency crews managed the scene. The Idaho State Police are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
