Emporia Man Injured in Single-Vehicle Accident Early Sunday Morning
Emporia, KS — An Emporia man was transported to the hospital following a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:41 a.m. on U.S. Highway 50, near the intersection with Road 202. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the 27-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle while heading westbound, leading to it rolling over into a ditch.
Emergency responders from the Emporia Fire Department and Lyon County EMS arrived on the scene shortly after the accident was reported. The driver was found with moderate injuries and was taken to Newman Regional Health for treatment.
Authorities closed one lane of U.S. Highway 50 for about 30 minutes while the scene was cleared. The vehicle was towed from the site, and an investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
No other vehicles were involved, and there were no reported fatalities.
