TOWN OF DEKORRA, Wis. (WKOW) — A head-on collision on County Highway J claimed the life of a 71-year-old man from Sun Prairie on [date] at approximately 2:35 p.m.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call reporting a motorcycle accident where the rider had sustained serious injuries. First responders provided immediate aid, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to authorities, a 19-year-old man from Dane was driving southbound in an SUV when he crossed the center line near a curve, leading to the collision with the northbound motorcycle. The SUV driver was uninjured.
The roadway was closed for over six hours as investigators assessed the scene. The identity of the deceased will be withheld pending family notification.
