Marlborough Crash Involving School Bus Claims One Life
MARLBOROUGH, NH — A fatal collision occurred early Friday involving a school bus and a pickup truck, resulting in the death of one Swanzey man.
Authorities said the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. on Route 101 near the intersection of Elementary School Road. The school bus, operated by Monadnock Regional School District, was transporting students at the time of the accident.
Emergency responders from the Marlborough Fire Department arrived on the scene to assist. A total of three individuals sustained injuries; however, none were life-threatening. The identity of the deceased is pending notification of next of kin.
According to officials, traffic was halted in both directions while investigators examined the crash site. One lane remained closed for approximately three hours. The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
No students were reported seriously injured, and the school district is providing support to those affected.
