Man Charged with DUI After Vehicle Catches Fire Post-Crash, Police Say.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A 49-year-old man faces DUI charges after losing control of his vehicle early on April 15.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:13 a.m. in the 800 block of East Main Street in Ephrata Township. Christopher Ulrich was driving a Wrangler when he struck a crossing sign and crossed the center median, leading to the vehicle catching fire.

According to authorities, Ulrich did not sustain injuries but exhibited signs of impairment. A breath test reportedly indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.168%, more than twice the legal limit in Pennsylvania.

Ulrich has been charged with two DUI misdemeanors and received citations for three traffic offenses, as per online court documents. He is awaiting his preliminary arraignment.
