Man Charged with DUI After Crash Causes Vehicle Fire, Police Report.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A man was charged with driving under the influence following an accident in Ephrata Township early on April 15.

The incident occurred at 12:13 a.m. in the 800 block of East Main Street. Christopher Ulrich, 49, driving a Wrangler, struck a crossing sign and veered over the center median. The vehicle subsequently caught fire.

Authorities reported that Ulrich did not sustain injuries but displayed signs of impairment at the scene. A breath test revealed his blood alcohol concentration was .168%, more than double the legal limit in Pennsylvania.

Ulrich faces two DUI misdemeanors and three traffic citations, according to online court documents. He is currently awaiting a preliminary arraignment.
