The pursuit began when state troopers attempted a traffic stop and discovered an active felony warrant for the driver. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office joined the chase as the suspect fled, covering several miles across local roads and the interstate.

During the chase, the driver briefly reversed direction off an exit ramp before navigating through nearby streets and parking lots. The pursuit ended violently when the suspect lost control while exiting the interstate, driving into a ditch and launching airborne over an adjacent road before crashing into a field.
