Pearl City, HI – A 41-year-old man was hospitalized in serious condition following a hit-and-run incident on Sunday night.
The collision occurred at approximately 10:55 p.m. at Kamehameha Highway and Puu Momi Street. According to Honolulu Police, the unidentified motorist was traveling eastbound on Kamehameha Highway when they made a left turn onto Puu Momi Street and struck the pedestrian, who was crossing northbound in a marked crosswalk.
Authorities reported that the driver failed to stop and continued northbound on Puu Momi Street without providing aid or information. Honolulu Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene, treating the victim before transporting him to an area hospital.
The Traffic Division's Vehicular Homicide Section is leading the ongoing investigation. At this time, it remains unclear if speed, drugs, or alcohol were factors in the crash.
