NORTH CHARLESTON — A 27-year-old man has been charged in connection with a fatal crash that occurred in the early hours of August 5.

Lewis Pinckney is facing charges of leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death after allegedly hitting 47-year-old Herbert Dawson, who was on foot near the intersection of Rivers Avenue and Piggly Wiggly Drive. Emergency responders arrived at approximately 1:45 a.m. and found Dawson deceased at the scene.
