A teenager was struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter Thursday evening in Abington, Massachusetts.
The incident occurred near the Walmart entrance on Brockton Avenue at approximately 5 p.m. According to police, the 13-year-old victim was airlifted to Boston Children's Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Authorities reported that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. The crash led to traffic disruptions, with westbound drivers on Brockton Avenue detoured onto Constitution Avenue; one lane remained open for eastbound traffic.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
