CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Three tractor-trailers crashed around 3:25 a.m. Wednesday, closing I-81 northbound near mile marker 28, authorities said.
According to PennDOT, one rig carrying raw chicken spilled its load onto the roadway. Another semi was transporting mail; the third vehicle's cargo was not immediately known.
One person was transported to a hospital for treatment, according to PennDOT. No additional patient information was released.
According to 511PA, a lane restriction was implemented between mile markers 24 and 29. PennDOT said I-81 northbound was closed for several hours and had reopened by 9:30 a.m.
Franklin County crews assisted with closing the interstate, according to the Department of Transportation. Further details were not immediately available.
