CHELMSFORD, MA — Multiple injuries were reported in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 495 Tuesday night, shortly before 10 p.m.
According to Massachusetts State Police, the incident occurred on the southbound side of the highway at the Hunt Road overpass. Emergency responders airlifted one of the injured individuals, while the wrong-way driver sustained life-threatening injuries.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation confirmed the southbound lanes were closed at Exit 88 following the crash.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident. No additional information has been released at this time.
