Woman Seriously Injured in Mayetta Crash on US-75 near 158th Road

Jackson County, KS. – A woman was seriously injured in a collision that occurred on Wednesday evening near Mayetta in Jackson County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 6:09 p.m. on US-75, near 158th Road.

A 2017 GMC Acadia was westbound on 158th Road when it failed to yield to southbound traffic and was struck by a 2007 Chrysler van traveling southbound on US-75.

A 57-year-old woman from Eagle Pass, Texas, was a passenger in the GMC and was transported to Stormont Vail for treatment of serious injuries.

Both the driver and another passenger in the GMC were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver and passenger of the Chrysler, both from St. Marys, were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
