TACOMA, Wash. – Two men died in a multi-vehicle collision in Tacoma on Thursday evening after a stolen vehicle ran a red light.
The crash occurred around 8 p.m. on South Hosmer Street, when a stolen Honda Civic traveling south reportedly ran a red light and was struck by a northbound vehicle, police said. The Civic then collided with two additional vehicles.
Both men in the Honda, one of whom was identified as a 37-year-old passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene. No injuries to occupants of the other vehicles were reported. The Honda had been stolen on August 5 in Lakewood.
Authorities indicated that excessive speed may have been a factor in the incident. An investigation is ongoing.
