MEDWAY, MA — A postal worker was ejected from her vehicle and pinned when a pickup truck collided with her mail truck on Friday at 11:21 a.m.
The worker suffered serious injuries and was flown to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, according to Medway Police. The pickup truck driver was transported by ambulance for evaluation.
Authorities have not disclosed whether charges will be filed in connection with the crash. Initial investigations indicate the postal worker was on her delivery route when the pickup struck her vehicle, causing it to roll over. Police do not believe speed was a contributing factor.
The U.S. Postal Service is collaborating with state and local police in the investigation. Medway Police reported that Main Street was closed between Oakland and Holliston streets as first responders managed the two-vehicle accident; the roadway reopened hours later.
Aerial images from the scene displayed a pickup truck and a U.S. Postal Service mail truck overturned on private property near the road.
