WASHINGTON (7NEWS) — A child was critically injured in a hit-and-run accident involving an ATV in Northwest D.C. on Saturday evening.
Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers responded at 6:52 p.m. at the intersection of 14th Street and Chapin Street, NW. A young boy was found unconscious but breathing after being struck while riding his bicycle.
Emergency medical crews transported the child to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition, authorities said.
According to police, the ATV driver fled the scene immediately following the incident. The suspect is described as a man with dreadlocks, dressed in all black, and operating a lime green and white ATV.
