LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A driver is dead following a two-vehicle collision in east Las Vegas late Wednesday night, according to authorities.
The incident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on Hollywood Boulevard, south of Bonanza Road, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police. Investigators determined that a Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling south at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control.
The Pontiac crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with the passenger side of a GMC Sierra, which subsequently tipped onto its side. Medical personnel pronounced the driver of the Pontiac, a 23-year-old man from Las Vegas, dead at the scene.
Both the driver and a passenger in the GMC Sierra were transported to UMC for treatment, with injuries confirmed by authorities.
The LVMPD's Collision Investigation Section is actively investigating the crash, and no further details on the incident have been released.
