Alcohol suspected in fatal car crash near Hollister.

HOLLISTER, Idaho — A two-vehicle crash on US-93 north of Hollister early Thursday morning resulted in one fatality, according to the Idaho State Police (ISP).

The incident occurred at 1:12 a.m. when a 53-year-old man from Twin Falls drove a 2017 F-350 southbound in the northbound lanes, colliding head-on with a Ford Explorer driven by a 59-year-old Twin Falls man. Authorities reported that alcohol may have contributed to the crash.

Both drivers were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment; however, the driver of the Ford Explorer succumbed to his injuries. Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

US-93 was closed for approximately 90 minutes as emergency responders worked to clear the scene. The ISP is conducting an ongoing investigation into the crash.
