Wahiawa dirt bike crash leads to serious injuries and rescue by HFD.

WAHIAWA, Hawaii (Local News Wire) – Authorities responded to a dirt biking accident near the Dole Plantation on Sunday morning.

The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received an emergency call at approximately 10:31 a.m. regarding a man in his 40s who was injured and unable to descend the trail near Whitmore Village.

Rescue efforts included an HFD helicopter that reached the scene at 11:02 a.m., where medical treatment was administered. Due to dense tree coverage, additional rescue personnel were deployed to assist in transporting the injured biker to a clearing for evacuation.

The helicopter transported the biker to a designated landing zone, where he was transferred to Honolulu Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at 11:54 a.m. EMS reported the man was not wearing a helmet and suffered a serious head injury after hitting a rock.

He was subsequently taken to a nearby emergency room in serious condition. No further details are available at this time.
