Eugene Mirman Hospitalized Following Fiery Car Crash
BEDFORD, NH — Eugene Mirman, 51, was hospitalized after being rescued from a burning car following a crash at the Bedford Toll Plaza on the Everett Turnpike around 11:55 a.m. on March 31, 2026.
According to the New Hampshire Division of State Police, a veteran trooper assigned to Governor Kelly Ayotte's security detail witnessed the crash, which involved one vehicle that caught fire. The trooper immediately rescued Mirman from the vehicle through a window, bringing him to safety.
Mirman was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. A representative stated, “Eugene was in a very scary car accident,” expressing gratitude to the bystanders, first responders, and hospital staff for their assistance. The representative also requested privacy for Mirman and his family as he recovers.
State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall commended the trooper's actions, noting they were heroic and demonstrated selflessness in danger.
The incident is currently under investigation, but no charges have been filed as of yet. Further details about Mirman's condition have not been released.
